BIOGRAPHY

Emma Westerling is the co-owner of Westeros Equine Academy with her older sister Joséphine. The riding center, located in Hammeau-sur-Mandre, in southern France, was passed down to the two of them 6 years previously, when their parents chose to retire to Paris. With her incredible talent, Emma is the star rider for WEA, competing at international competitons and training young promising horses to succes. Emma is the one in charge of the competitors and the schedule, although she's not very good at actually taking up her responsibilities, leading to tension with her older, organized sister Josie.

As the youngest daughter of a successful British businessman and famous French show jumper Natalie Westerling (née Marionnaud), Emma was spoiled by her parents and turned into a rather self-centered young adult. As a kid, Emma was a natural born talent in riding, like her mother and excelled in the show ring even at a very young age. Because of her talent and succes, Emma got very confident and even cocky, which resulted in her thinking she didn't need school. This combined with the wrong friends made Emma start doing drugs and completely derailing, even from her succesful riding career. After failing school twice and in rough shape because of the drugs, Emma realized she needed to turn things around and made the decision to go for a professional career in horse riding.

Emma started training really hard and worked her way up to international level in only three years. When the estate was passed down to the two sisters, Emma got the responsibility of the competition team and is the international face of WEA. She also interferes with breeding decisions and mostly just hangs out with the other riders and doesn't do the work she's given. She fights with her older sister a lot, but secretly Emma looks up to Josie and loves her with all her heart, knowing that her troubled youth gave Josie a hard time.

History

Coming of Age: Emma is still very much in the process of becoming an adult, she's not responsible and relies on others for a lot of things, she only does what she likes to do and mostly just hangs around with her friends.

Evolution: In her mid teens, Emma used to do nothing, she didn't work for school, she didn't train enough, she just went out with friends, did drugs (luckily only soft drugs and she never got addicted), drank too much and stayed in bed until after noon. When she failed the same year twice and her friends graduated high school, Emma got lonely and started riding more, which is when she discovered she is an incredibly talented rider. She then started focusing on training and competing and decided that was what she wanted to do with her life, so she got more active and motivated and started working hard for it.

Upbringing: Emma was pampered by her parents and was never taught to be independent or take care of herself, so she just never learned to be responsible.
